A visit to the ruins of ancient Caunos, via the Dalyan River delta is one of the 'musts' while traveling the south-west Turkish coast. And it's best experienced from the sea as the experience is as much about the journey as it is about the fabulous ruins. To get a proper appreciation of the lands of Caria and Lycia, you must take the excursion by riverboat, traveling all the way up to the town of Dalyan and back again.
