Halki is a small island just west of Rhodes. Chalki is known for keeping old traditional songs alive, most notably the ''mantinada'' - a 15-syllable rhyming couplet which is sung in Cretan dialect. There are beaches and a great walk along a special road call ''Tarpon Springs Boulevard''.
